Google Scholar Watchpoints
Google Scholar Profiles should NEVER be set up using a UC San Diego Google account.
Google does not provide a method of transferring ownership of a Scholar Profile to another Google account.
If you have created a Google Scholar Profile owned/managed by your @eng.ucsd.edu Google account, there are two options for your Scholar Profile:
Recreate your Scholar Profile tied to a different account
BEFORE your eng.ucsd.edu account closes, you can go into Google Scholar and Delete your eng.ucsd.edu Scholar Profile. This way, you new Scholar Profile is tied to another Google account, and you won't have two different profiles.
To Delete your Scholar Profile, open Google Scholar while signed into the Google account that manages it. Click on menu button (upper left) and choose Settings > Account. Click on "Delete Scholar account" and read/follow prompts.
DEFAULT BEHAVIOR: Scholar Profile deletes after management Google account is deleted
If you leave your eng.ucsd.edu owned Scholar Profile in place, when the Google account is closed, the Profile will become read-only, and you will be unable to make any additional edits to the Profile.
I have confirmed that once the Google account that manages the Scholar Profile is deleted, the Scholar Profile is also eventually deleted.
